Mains Fed Fire Sprinklers
Domestic and residential sprinklers should be tested on an annual basis.
A mains fed sprinkler system requires far less maintenance than the systems that are tank fed. These services are still vital though to ensure that the water is being fed at a high enough pressure.
Also during this service the cover plates are checked to make sure that they will release and haven’t been painted over. The sprinkler heads themselves are also checked to be intact.
The flow switch and the audible alarm and also tested as well as any connection to a fire alarm system. All valves are checked to ensure that the system can also be turned off when desired.
If you have a sprinkler system installed but it has not been tested annually then this may affect your insurance coverage.
